Actor Alia Bhatt left for London soon after attending the screening of mother Soni Razdan’s film Your Truly on Monday. The actor was spotted at the airport later that night with her Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji. Conspicuous in his absence was actor Ranbir Kapoor. Reports now suggest the reason for Ranbir’s absence.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the reason is that Alia is on a short vacation to spend time with her sister Shaheen, who is studying at an Interior Design School in London. Ayan will remain busy with the music for Brahmastra, being created by music director Pritam.
The report, quoted an unnamed source as saying, “After a meeting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for her next, Inshallah, a contemporary love story with Salman Khan, Alia took off for London for a vacation. She was accompanied by her Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji. While Alia will be enjoying some ‘we’ time with sister Shaheen, who’s studying at the Interior Design School, Ayan will be working with Pritam, who is also in London, on the film’s music.”
The report adds that Alia will be back in the second week of May and plunge straight into work. This is why we saw Ranbir with Abhishek Bachchan at a football match on May 1.
Alia’s last film, Kalank, tanked at the box office but she has a number of interesting projects in her kitty — Karan Johar’s directorial Takht, Ayan’s Brahmastra, Bhansali’s Inshallah, SS Rajamouli’s RRR and her father Mahesh Bhatt’s Saadak 2. The basic plot of Saadak 2 was revealed recently. As per another Mumbai Mirror report, Alia’s character will unmask a godman in the film. “Alia’s character is out to expose a fake guru who runs an ashram. She is accompanied by Sanjay’s (Dutt) character in this journey. Sanjay has already started prep with Bhatt saab. They start shooting in a fortnight,” said the source to the paper.
