Vinta Nanda, the writer and producer of one of the most popular shows of the 90’s called Tara, recently opened up about being sexually assaulted by her leading actor of the show, Alok Nath. She wrote a long letter on Facebook talking about every single incident and moment that she went through. It is the only thing that everyone on social media can speak about. Alok bagged Tara in 1993 and romance the lead actress, Navneet Nishan onscreen. He played the role of Deepak Seth, the married man who Tara fell in love with on the show. The actor said, in an interview to Movie magazine, that Navneet was a drug user.
The actress lost her cool on reading this and sued the actor for Rs. 1 crore. She also got into a fight with Alok’s wife, Ashu Nath, who was a costume co-ordinator for the show. Navneet also went on to rubbishing his claims and told a publication, “It’s taken me 8 years to get where I am and I don’t want some alcoholic fool to mess it up for me.” She refused to work with him on the show after that but had to because she had no choice.
In fact, Tara and Deepak parted ways in the show since the makers and the writer wanted him out of the show. What are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments below and stay tuned with us for more.
