Game of Thrones: Lena Headey bids adieu to her on-screen character Cersei Lannister in an emotional post, says ‘her watch is ended’

Its been a long time since the fifth episode of HBO’s magnum opus Game of Thrones has released and fans are still not over it. The penultimate episode titled The Bells saw massive things happening, right from the much awaited Clegane Bowl to the death of show’s most hated villain Cersei Lannister. Actress Lena Headey who portrays the character has been receiving accolades for her portrayal, especially in the last episode where she dies. Many are still not over the death of Cersei Lannister. And it seems the actress too hasn’t really moved on. Recently, Lena put up a post bidding adieu to her on-screen character that she has portrayed over nine years.

In the post, Lena also wrote a heartfelt note and said that her (Cersei’s) watch is ended. She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play the character. Lena’s post read, “There she goes. It’s been fun, and bonkers . I loved her. I am grateful for the opportunity. Massively thankful for your encouraging and supportive love along the way. And now her watch is ended (I know she’d never make it, Nights watch wouldn’t have her .. but still..) ??????”

Not just to her character, Lena also bid farewell to her co-stars. She posted a sweet picture with Nikolaj Coster Waldau who plays Jamie Lannister in the medieval drama. Her caption read, “When @nikolajwilliamcwand I wore jellyfish … I fucking love you ya big weirdo ????”

She also posted a picture with Nathalie Emmanuel who played Missandei in the show. She wrote, “Beautiful@nathalieemmanuel You represented hope and true strength. I didn’t like that day up there ?????”

And lastly she also shared a fun BTS video with the actor who plays Euron Greyjoy.

Well, looking at the posts we are already missing Cersei Lannister. Her death seemed like the end of an era. The final episode of the series will be aired this Sunday, on May 19.
