Thalapathy Vijay’s Master has finally hit the screens today (January) after a one-year wait. As the first shows across the country come to an end, fans have been posting their reviews on Twitter and other social media platforms. From the first reviews, fans seemed to have liked what director Lokesh Kanagaraj has created and appreciated the performances of Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi.
It is a big day for Vijay’s die-hard fans and Tamil cinema. As Master released after a long wait, theatres are expected to see a huge crowd to catch the film on big screens despite the novel coronavirus pandemic. Fans, who have watched the FDFS (first-day first show), are raving about the film.
Many fans felt that Master is a typical Vijay movie with necessary commercial elements. A fan pointed out that Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi and Arjun Das have in-depth characters in the film.
Master’s promos are a huge hit on social media. Ahead of the film’s release, the team of Master, on Tuesday, released a new promo. What caught everyone’s attention was how Lokesh Kanagaraj cleverly recreated the iconic kabaddi match (from Ghilli) in his style.
Vijay played the role of a kabaddi player in his superhit film Ghilli. Decades later, director Dharani’s Ghilli is one of Vijay’s best works. During the kabaddi scene in Master, Vijay can be seen thrashing Arjun Das and his goons. Composer Anirudh Ravichander has reworked on the Ghilli kabaddi theme music for this sequence.
Produced by Xavier Britto under XB Film Creators, Master has Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das in important roles. The films’ release had to be postponed to 2021 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
