Meghana Raj, along with her friends, watched her brother-in-law Dhruva Sarja’s recently released film Pogaru in theatres recently. Director Pannaga Bharana of French Biriyani fame, who accompanied Meghana, took to his Instagram page to share some stories from the theatre. He posted a video of Dhruva Sarja’s introduction from Pogaru. Directed by Nandakishore, Pogaru features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
Meghana Raj enjoyed a day out with her friends in Bengaluru recently. Meghana, Pannaga Bharana and their friends watched Dhruva Sarja’s Pogaru in a theatre in the city. Bharana took to Instagram to share a selfie with his friends and called it a ‘best cinema experience.’
Pogaru is a commercial entertainer that hit the theatres on February 19. The film was dubbed in Tamil as Semma Thimuru and was distributed by Dhruva’s uncle Arjun Sarja.
The Brahmin community and Karnataka Brahmin Board Chairman objected to certain scenes in the film. In the film, some miscreants can be seen keeping their foot on the shoulder of a priest who was seen performing a pooja.. This sequence has hurt the sentiments of the community and hence they asked the makers to remove it.
Director Nandakishore and the producers of Pogaru agreed to chop off 14 scenes from the film. The director said, “We did not intend to hurt anyone. All the controversial scenes in the movie will be removed and the viewers won’t know the difference. This film is like my child and the edits won’t affect the storyline.”
Pogaru, which marks Dhruva Sarja’s fourth film, has been receiving a lukewarm response from the audience.
