Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who made her Hindi film debut with the Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg in 2010, has garnered a massive fan following over the years with her versatile acting and amazing looks. The actress, who was last seen in the movie Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, has two more projects lined up for the coming year. Now, a recent report has revealed that Sonakshi has been approached to play the female lead in Gulshan Kumar’s biopic, Mogul.
A source told DNA that the 31-year-old actress has been approached for the role. “The film dates back to the ’70s and ’80s and the team was looking for a heroine, who could exude that retro vibe. It’s a small, but meaningful role. Sona will only need to shoot for a few days. When she heard the script, she liked it and told Bhushan that she would do it. But the modalities still need to be worked out,” the source said.
The report also revealed that while Sonakshi has given a nod for the project, she has not signed officially yet. The movie will narrate the life story of Gulshan Kumar and Sonakshi will play one of his girlfriends.
However, ever since its announcement, the movie has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Earlier it was Akshay Kumar who walked out of the film and now Aamir Khan, who was co-producing the movie with Bhushan Kumar, has walked out after Mogul’s director Subhash Kapoor was accused of sexual harassment. Later, Subhash was dropped out of the movie.
Apart from this, Sonakshi will be next seen in the period drama Kalank. The movie is being directed by Abhishek Verman and also stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles.
