Mumbai Rail Roko live updates: Mumbai back on track after agitating students call off protest

Massive protest erupted in Mumbai between Matunga and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station. Students from the All India Act Apprenticeship Association have launched Rail Roko movement demanding permanent jobs in railways.

The Mumbai Police has reached the spot.

Train services have been affected due to the protest. Atleast 30 trains have been cancelled on the Central line

Chief PRO, Central Railway, Mumbai said “there is some kind of protest taking place between CST and Dadar. The railway police is handling the situation. It is not specified who these protestors are.”

He said that train services would be restored to normal shortly.

MNS leader, Sandeep Deshpande said, “Until Railway Minister Piyush Goyal provides a written assurance to these students, these students won’t move from here.”
