After being in news for her romantic candle-lit dinner date with her crush Kartik Aaryan, whom she is working with in the sequel of Love Aaj Kal, Sara Ali Khan has landed herself in a spot where she is being trolled. But thankfully, she has created enough fan-following in the industry despite being a newbie to have some fans defend her as well. It so happened that at the recently held Filmfare awards, when Sara was asked about her feelings for Filmfare awards, she said, “My father (Saif Ali Khan) used to host Filmfare with Shah Rukh (Khan) uncle, I used to love it…”
While it was a very sweet thing to say, the Kedarnath actors did attract some criticism from hardcore SRK fans. Miffed fans trolled the actress for addressing him as ‘uncle’. However, Sara too has some fan following by now and her followers countered the criticism with arguments that she just chose the wrong time to call him ‘uncle’. On a professional platform, ‘sir’ would have been a better word to use. One of the online users went on to say, “Sara Ali Khan called SRK uncle at Filmfare and people are trolling her. What do you expect a 23 YO to call a 50 plus man who is in real life, older than her father? Stupid fans need to accept their hero has aged enough to be called uncle,” [sic].

But there were still some who stood by their opinions, either saying she was right or saying she was wrong:
