Right when the entire nation was recovering from the sad and sudden demise of legendary actress Sridevi, another shocking news hit us all. ‘Piku’ actor Irrfan Khan, who has given his fans several reasons to admire and love him announced on social media about his deteriorating health. While there were numerous speculations surrounding the actor’s health, it was revealed that he was suffering from NeuroEndocrine tumour.
He was reportedly in London, seeking treatment for the same. Now, as per latest reports, his close friend filmmaker Shoojit Sircar revealed that Irrfan Khan is, in fact, responding well to the treatment. The ‘Piku’ director also plans to roll out his next project with Irrfan by the end of this year.
Speaking to a daily, Shoojit said that he tried to speak with Irrfan and his wife Sutapa in order to understand the actor’s condition better. He further revealed that it was learnt by him that he is responding well to the treatment and trying to cope with the knowledge that he’s battling NeuroEndocrine tumour by treating the recuperation in Europe like a short and unexpected holiday.
Shoojit also professed that he might visit Irrfan next month and will try to roll out the film he is planning to make with him by this year-end. The film is reportedly based on the life of Udham Singh, who drew an inspirational life during the fight for our country’s freedom from the British. Shoojit revealed that to relive Udham’s journey, he needs a performance with finesse and depth which Irrfan is capable of. He averred that Irrfan is the only international actor which the Bollywood industry has today and he discovered that independently, he knows a lot about the history of Punjab. So, Shoojit feels that it’s easy working with an actor who’s interested and involved.
When an ace filmmaker like Rajkumar Hirani praises you for your performance, you know you have got it right. Actor Sohum Shah recently became the recipient of his words of praise after the filmmaker was impressed with his performance in the film ‘Tumbad’.

After the end of the screening Hirani, reportedly, spoke to Sohum and the team with a lot of love and encouragement. The filmmaker was so impressed by the film that he even took to his Twitter handle to praise the film.
He wrote, ‘Just saw an early screening of TUMBBAD. I have not seen a more visually stunning film in a long time. Great camera work, art, costumes. And @s0humshah you are outstanding in the film!@LittleTownFilms”
Needless to say, Sohum, who spent reportedly six years making the film, was left emotional and motivated to hear so much from someone like Hirani.
