Ajith’s decision to do Nerkonda Paarvai, the official Tamil remake of Bollywood flick, Pink, received a lot of applause from all quarters. The film, directed by H Vinoth, released worldwide on August 8 and is still running successfully in theatres.
Trisha, who has shared screen space with Ajith in a handful of films was all praises for him. She recently attended an event related to UNICEF, where the actress took part in an interaction regarding violence against children.
At the event, a journalist asked Trisha whether she had watched Nerkonda Paarvai, which explores consent, women’s safety, patriarchy and double standards in the society. The 96 actress showered praises on Ajith for a doing a film like Nerkonda Paarvai.
She said, “I haven’t watched Nerkonda Paarvai yet. But, hats off to him. He’s a superstar and for him to do a film like this, it has opened all our eyes. I just got back home and I’m sure I am going to watch the film soon.”
Stating that she likes Ajith, she added, “Hats off to him for supporting a cause like this.”
She also stressed on the fact that crimes against women and children would come down only when there is a harsh punishment, just like in the Arab countries.
Ajith and Trisha had teamed up in four films namely, Ji, Kireedam, Mankatha and Yennai Arindhaal.
