Twilight actress Kristen Stewart reveals she was told to hide her sexuality if she wanted Marvel film

Hollywood actress Kristen Stewart, who will be seen in Seberg next, opened up about her personal life.

In a Harper Bazaar UK interview, Kristen revealed that she was advised to not date women publicly as it might dim her chances of featuring in a Marvel film. However, Kristen was clear that she was unruffled about the impact any of this would have on her career.

She said, “I have fully been told, ‘If you just like do yourself a favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie.” Kristen added, “I don’t want to work with people like that.”

Kristen had made headlines with the Twilight franchise, which also starred her now ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson. Opening up about her relationship, she said, “When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by. So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours.'”

Kristen added that she feels that she evolved over the years and doesn’t need to hide anything from anyone. Kristen said, “I was informed by an old school mentality, which is – you want to preserve your career and your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don’t like you, and they don’t like that you date girls, and they don’t like that you don’t identify as a quote unquote lesbian,’ but you also don’t identify as a quote unquote heterosexual.'”

Kristen Stewart starred as Bella Swan in the hugely successful Twilight franchise, and Robert Pattinson played the role of Edward Cullen, her vampire boyfriend. Kristen has also acted in films like Still Alice, Charlie’s Angels, Snow White And The Huntsman, among others.
